Library Curriculum

The primary goal of the library is to instill a lifelong love of reading while creating a foundation of learning skills that will enable our students to become productive members of society.

The mission of the library is to stimulate inquiry, promote the acquisition of information literacy skills, and assist students in information problem solving tasks.  The resources available in the library are closely aligned to the curriculum needs of the school to encourage the integration of library skills in content area activities.

The goal of the East Leesville Elementary librarian is to:

  • Provide activities that will spark students' interest in listening to and reading literature
  • Integrate library and research skills in all curricular areas
  • Provide leadership, collaboration, and assistance to teachers and staff
  • Encourage parents to become involved in school/library activities through monthly newsletters
  • Provide resources and materials that will accommodate a wider range of differences in teaching and learning styles
  • Stimulate inquiry, promote the aquisition of information literacy skills, and assist students in information problem solving tasks
Reading blooms in every child!

  • Let your child read a bedtime story to you.
